Getting the key
How do I get my new key?
If you are a first year student staying in halls you will automatically be issued a key when you arrive at Southampton University in September 2015
If you are not a first year student or a member of staff you can:
- register online www.unilinkbus.co.uk/thekey fill out your details and one will be sent in the post
- visit the Uni-Link office and we can sell and issue you a key
What details do I need when I register for my key?
As the key is registered to you as an individual on registration you will be asked for:
- your name,
- address,
- date of birth (used for security purposes only)
- contact details (email, telephone etc)
Why do you need so much of my personal data for a key card?
If you lose your key, we want to make sure that we get your un-used travel credits back to you and so we may need to ask you some security questions.
WE NEVER PASS ANY OF YOUR DETAILS ON TO ANYONE ELSE (other than as required by law)
How long will it take to receive my key?
If you apply online before 4pm it goes out by first class post that day. However, if you apply in the evening or weekend, it will go in the post the next work day.
